Sustainability

No one wants pollution for their kids or themselves. By encouraging electric-vehicle friendly zoning and chargers, we reduce the harmful fumes that come from traditional cars. These fumes create higher rates of asthma in children. Fewer traditional cars equals fewer missed days of school and more time breathing easy!

Sandy Springs does not have city-wide recycling and private recycling companies do not always meet the needs of our citizens. City-wide services would streamline recycling and make it more accessible for all households. This reduces what goes into our landfills!

Walkable neighborhoods improve health by keeping you active. Foot traffic in front of our restaurants and shops increases business. Being able to walk to grab some groceries or takeout also reduces the time you would be sitting in traffic!

Zoning & Development

Well-kept roads, parks, and public spaces reflect our pride in Sandy Springs and creates an environment that is safe for our children and families.

By fully funding the Sandy Springs Police Department, we can have safer neighborhoods that foster economic growth, attract businesses, and enhance property values. A peaceful community with low crime rates contributes to wellbeing for all residents.

Having a variety of housing options benefits all generations of Sandy Springs. Older adults can rightsize to smaller, more accessible homes and maintain their community connections. Young professionals and families can move into starter homes and put down roots. Having a variety of choices allows for all citizens to find what works best for them in the fabric of our city.

Family-First Policies

Improving city relations with our many wonderful schools is a priority to ensure that all of Sandy Springs’ children are supported in their educational goals. Maintenance and growth of our parks allows children safe, green spaces to play and explore. Increased support for our youth recreational programs allows our kids to learn teamwork, be healthy, and develop their athletic skills.

Older adults benefit from our relationships with our local hospitals, which hold 40% of available beds in Metro Atlanta. Housing options, first-class medical care, and increased services and recreation options for our older adults allows for a vibrant, multigenerational Sandy Springs.
